Annamarie Boburka

Artist Statement:

​

I am a traditional artist that specializes in art through media and animation, as well as art history. The work I create is done through the use of different color palettes, patterns, and symbols. My work focuses on developing a story within the composition. I also use a wide range of media throughout my art, but I mainly focus on painting, sketching, and a digital format that consists of Adobe software such as Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects. My work consists of written stories and sketches for storytelling ideas, along with a variety of 2D and digital work. Using my gathered knowledge in art history, I concentrate on developing stories and narratives within my own compositions.

I incorporate natural and organic symbols, patterns, and realistic nature base objects in my 2D artwork to explore the reality in which we live in. I try to connect the viewer to life around the globe and offer stories to tell in my work. As an artist, I develop my artwork to depict stories and narratives based on how things have come to be known to humans over time. This concept allows viewers to explore my art through the idea of life’s cultivation of the soul, in order to bring the stories back to their original roots.

I make art to visually show why it is important to me and my expressions, and to tell stories about life, cultures, and histories around the globe. I make art to connect those aspects for viewers to interpret themselves to enjoy through their eyes.
